visionaries, particularly self-professed visionaries, don’t seem to do well with operations folk.  oh, it’s not an issue of intolerance.  the operations folk are too practical and we get in the way of the vision.  that the visionary needs a firm foundation from which to base the vision, and from which to create the comparison the flows from the vision…all that is irrelevant to the visionary.  i’ve since learned the best thing for an operations folk to do when with visionaries is to fully support the vision and plan on being the location when things crash…we’ll be there to catch the pieces…and keep it going.  it’s kind of the real-life version of the movie ‘little fauss and big halsey’.  the operations folk keep things going for the ones in the spotlight.  truth be told, both are interdependent
